Baradères is located along the north coast of the western peninsula of HAITI (Latitude 18°28'57N, Longitude 73°38'19W). The town is around 100 miles west of the capital. This is where I was born. I left when I was very young, the actual reality of this isolated corner of the world has greatly changed from the vivid memories and the nostalgias I still hold. I remember the sacrifices of my parents trying to achieve a better life for their children and also for other less fortunate children. I remember some of my childhood friends, whom life has taken them on their separate ways. I remember some of my relatives from within and the surrounding localities of this beautiful EDEN. I remember mangoes, sugar cane, cayemites, cachiman, l'ame veritable, mazombaile, fishing in the river, canoe to the bay, excursion to marecage, trip to la plaine, vacation to Fonds-Tortue and on and on ... Wooooops - I wake up in this beautiful state of Tennessee not before living in Port-Au-Prince for a while, then there was the transition to New-York after a quarter of my century (may be). While in Tennessee, I lived in Estill-Springs where I was reminded of a modern day Baradères. I also found out that I was a redneck or somewhat like one. In this adventure, I have become an Electrical Engineer, met many great friends, married a beautiful woman, had kids. I value life, love my neighbors, I'm a proud conservative and above all I respect and love GOD. I hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are LIFE, LIBERTY and THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS.
